REIMA HONKASALO was one of the exhibiting artists at the ARTiade 2004 - Olympics of Visual Art. From more than 4.500 entries of 120 Nations that have been submitted, the jury selected 172 Artists from 78 Nations of the participants for the ARTiade 2004.

The exhibition was being held parallel to the Olympic Games in Athens from 12th August to 29th September 2004.

This exhibition traces its roots back to the tradition of the ancient Greek contests in the first millennium BC, where artists and athletes appeared together as 'technitai' - virtuosi who represented two facets of a common culture. From the fifth century BC the Olympic Games also featured exhibitions of paintings, with prizes awarded to the artists.

REIMA HONKASALO participated in the fourth edition of the Florence International Biennale of Contemporary Art, which was held at the historic Medici fortress Fortezza da Basso during 6-14 December 2003.

In collaboration with the United Nations, the Biennale is an official participant in the Dialogue among Civilizations program. In the words of Kofi Annan, I believe that the dialogue is an opportunity for people of different cultures and traditions to know each other better, whether they live on opposite sides of the world or in the same street.
